Club Time Trials 2021 – CLOSED ROAD CIRCUIT EVENTS

March 10, 2020

With very grateful thanks to the Royal Signals, we’ve secured use of (former) RAF Brawdy airfield for two evening club time trials in 2021. The events are running on Wednesday September 1st and Tuesday September 7th. First rider off 6.45pm; thereafter at 30 second intervals, 40 riders.

Cyclists of all ages can now come and set a time against the clock in safety. Off public limits, this amazing facility has a virtually flat 8 km (5 mile) sweeping circuit. The races will each be 2 laps. The surface is mostly well maintained smooth tarmac and concrete. Some of the smaller concrete service road sections have vegetation in the cracks, but there is a smooth route providing you look ahead. With no sharp corners and no traffic, this could be one of the fastest ’10’s in West Wales! This will be predominantly marked with cones, with marshals at key turns.  CLICK HERE FOR THE ROUTE MAP

Access to and from the airfield will be only possible during set times at gate 21, on the Treffgarne Owen road from Penycwm. Turn right top of Newgale hill, gate is 1300m along the road on the left. Open 18.00 to 18.30. **Please arrive in good time: access in or out is impossible once the gates are locked and the TT is on**. Gates will be open for half an hour after the last rider finished, so no one can leave until everyone is finished. No driving around the airfield is allowed at any time, just to the parking area. This is a large tarmac area, lots of space for turbos etc. Up for grabs in these 2 events – Velos’ 2021 club championship trophies!

TICK FRIENDS AND FAMILY OPTION. In Paypal payment notes also list:

  1. TT1 or TT2, or both.
  2. Car make, model, colour and registration number
  3. Name of a spectator/helper coming with you. One per rider max.
  4. **FAILURE TO FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS MAY MEAN NO ACCESS & NO RIDE**

Please respect this amazing opportunity we’ve been given: no littering, no fouling, leave no trace.
